Biography

In a previous life I developed a solid background focused on design, communications and the technical aspects of colour. My professional careers and my art/design university education prepared me for my life as an artist and art coach. My early life on an Ontario dairy farm taught me endurance and tenacity, where responsibilities came early and were endless. Nature fed my soul, animals stole my heart and space allowed me to imagine.

My art making is propelled by passion, sensitivity, and a longing to create. My work evolves naturally. Initially I dedicated art making to representational drawing and painting which soon evolved to creating abstractly. Life experiences have a way of nudging or thrusting you deeper and forward.

Over the years I've developed my studio practice by consistently studying, practicing and working, always eager to learn, pushing myself beyond my comfort zone to discover and master new techniques authentic to me. Art making is a journey and my initial way of making paintings has morphed into immersing myself into the creative process while making art.   

In recent years I have dedicated time to teach and coach other artists, giving them key tools for creating their work and mentoring them to reach within for their authentic expression.
